An interview with the film's writer sounds encouraging:

and the rest of the books will be adapted for rdio with the original cast and Douglas Adams fulfilling his dream (from the grave):

I was listening to the orignals a few weeks ago. Not the greatest quality recordings, but it's the humour that makes them great. If I can ever find them on CD at a store, I'm definitely buying them.

WJ - I do believe they're available from the BBC directly. Lemme look ...

Yep - The entire radio series of HHGG on MP3 CD, in broadcast quality, on one CD for 20 quid (30 dollars) In fact there's quite a lot of HHGG stuff on the shop for anyone who wants to fill their days and nights with lunacy ... here is page 1 of 3 ... enjoy ...

BTW - Also - The BBC's own copy of the guide (left behind when Ford escaped) is at ttp://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/hitchhikers/guide/index.shtml ....

More popular than the Celestial Home Care Omnibus, better selling than Fifty Three More Things to do in Zero Gravity and more controversial than Oolon Coluphid's trilogy of controversial blockbusters: Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes and Who is This God Person Anyway?'

Where would we have been without it ... towelless for sure !

Ahh .. lokie here ... there's a BBC Shop America and they also have HHGG in their listing of products - unfortunately when I looked, I got a server error, but it may be working again soon.

Used to hav the cassettes of the original radio broadcasts ... hmm ... guess I lost those in a break-up years ago.

I do remember listening to them when I had a really bad case of the flu, though. In that sick-sleep state where you aren't completely asleep ... very weird dreams, I can tell you that.
