Topic awaiting preservation: Battle Chess? (Page 1 of 1)

Has anyone seen a Chess game similar to the old Battle Chess? I used to play Battle Chess when I was a kid and I used to love it. I've been playing a lot of Chess lately, mostly Big Bang Chess and while its good, its not nearly as cool. I searched the internet but as far as I can tell they stopped making the game and its not for sale anymore.

I don't really care what the platform is, Windows, Mac OS, or Linux, nor do I care whether or not its freeware or I have to pay for it. If anyones seen anything like it, let me know.

I just gave my copy to a guy that I used to work with.
I tried playing it on my machine, but the animations were all whack. I mean, just *way* too fast. No point in playing Battle Chess without the animations, right?

hey guys it's been way too long since i posted, but ive been peeking out of my cell and watching what's going on. I couldn't help but put my .02 on this one.

I LOVE THAT GAME! I used to have it on the Panasonic 3D0. Thanks for the find, but is anyone else having problems linking to the interplay site?

I love that game too - I used to play it at school all the time. It was one of many activities on the school network which eventually resulted in my being forced to sign a contract with the supervisor promising not to 'hack' in exchange for extra user rights.

I know it's not entirely ethical - but you can download various versions (including the re-vamped one) through Kazaa.

I won't say any more than that coz' I'm a good boy...

there are lots of old games on this site like 'alone in the dark', 'kingsquest', 'ultima' etc. Have fun boys and girl and for al the kids who don't know what i'm rambling about, these games has brought you an whole generation of programmers.....
