for some reason i can not burn data to cd's. I can burn Auido to cd's though. That's got me confused.

I am using the built in XP "Write to CD" deal.

I have used many different CD/R's including Memorex, Fuji and TDK. All of them do the same thing. Will burn audio files but no data files.

Is this something that anyone else has experienced? Think my cd burning is going out? I just got the burner about 8 months ago or so. It's a Sony....

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Ummm...try a burning program, and see if it works...like Nero. If it works, then it is probably something in Windose. If not, it could be (I had this problem once with my CD-R/W) that the FW in the CD-R/W is corrupted...I had to re-install the FW - and then it worked like a charm again.

That's all that I can suggest...maybe updating the Drivers might be a good idea, as well...try to avoid using M$ Drivers, if you can.

nero is probably the best software investment i've ever made. i've made a total of two coasters with it, both while trying to copy the same data cd, and as far as i can tell its because there was some sort of glitch with the original. killer little program...

Thanks for that. Must have been Windo$e because Nero did the trick.

Hope it doesn't do it again with Nero since I just chucked out $80 on it

Thanks!
