hi there.
i am using my new notebook right now, and i have a strange problem with it. whenever it turns to standby mode, and i press escape to switch it on again (to return to windows xp home), the cdrom drive disappears from the explorer. its like there is no drive in my pc. do you have any suggestions? that would be great. (i have to reboot to make the cd drive appear again)
thx in advance.

well... first see if the drive reappears when you say 'refresh' in the device manager.

I'm guessing that it's an internal CD-ROM???
If it was external, you might want to check to see if there is an option in hardware manager to disable device to save power on idle. Heck that might even work if it was internal.
