Ignore the title! Anyone up for a short game? I've posted some limitations from the start.

No Zips / No PSDs
Only JPEGs
File Size Limit 300k (Quality Default High JPEG in Photoshop no funny stuff!)
Theme: Techonlogy (and by that I don't mean tech lines and patterns!!)

So anybody up for it. We could even make it a little interesting by adding more players, something like a bout?

I may have strayed a little off the topic, technology/sci-fi - kinda' go nicely together...



The background is Lewisham, taken from a moving car with a Sony Ericsson T610 mobile phone. The little guy in the foreground is me (taken just moments ago with my webcam). Like the pose?

Mostly just blend-effects after that. A bit boring, but it's early in the morning, so I'm feeling lazy.

Sci-Fi/Technology don't matter anything tech goes. Almost went over there 269K that was close. I'll have mine up soon nice serve.

Actually, it was 301KB when I'd finished, so I shrank the whole image by 1% (hence the slightly smaller dimensions) and it gave you a bit of a margin. It was that, or drop the quality.

Nice huh, tearing the fabric of space to connect to the otherside!

Hint: Try to use dull and neutral colors to the extent. I've noticed they tend to be light in file size. Oh and try adding some typos, it gets kind of boring without them.

Yeah, well - I knocked that up around 4-5am, before I'd got to bed yet (playing Doom 3 all night). I wasn't thinking much, but had an image of an old invasion-movie poster in my head. I should have put some titles in there for effect.

I'm having trouble right now thinking what to do with that. I will have to get back to it later.

Right - back from a wasted night that was supposed to be spent rocking. Nobody bothered turning up so I've spent hours on buses for nothing.

I think I'll have another go at that. Still stuck for what to do with it, so might have to be a little cheap (it's too nice to ruin anyway).

Might have to post the result tomorrow, if that's okay? I hate to keep you waiting, but it's been a tough evening.

No it's not that I didn't like the devil... whoa, that sounds weird! Anyways, it's just kind of odd to see a demon with a mobile phone on a satellite dish that is lit on fire from below!!!

I think the demon (not necessarily Devil, but it's all the same, I s'pose) was really influenced by my recent game-playing (Doom 3, doncha' know). Rip a hole in the fabric of space, and you may just be opening a gate to Hell. Though that seems a little simplistic, the idea of the unknown possibly being something terrible appeals to me.

What if we were able to open a door to another world, only to discover something that doesn't play nice? Not a new idea, but I was grabbed by the urge to paint it.

Glad you like the last one. I'm still being rather down on technology with that quote, perhaps, but I'm a techno-freak usually, so it makes a change for me.

ADDENDUM: Actually, with what you said, it does rather look like a Devil stir-fry, eh? lol

Bad news!! I was making this awesome serve when a bolt of lightning struck my cell and burnt down my computer . I know I know oh my gosh apparently the PC's ok but the serve's dead I wonder how that could've happened ??

No such worries about lightning here - My PC sits behind an APC UPS unit, which is also plugged into a surge-protected socket. You can never be too careful, you know?

I've got a feeling your next serve is going to be hard to follow - I'm doing my research now to see if I can get some ideas. lol

Tips? Umm, no. I can't get any good ones without heavy thought and I'd need more twigs for the bad ones, sorry.

Took some time because I'd actually made two serves, the first one was a bit plain so I made this one, it's pretty deep.

I've really given technology a bad name! The logic is that the higher a person goes he forgets that the falls going to be terrible. The dead tree in the center symbolizes that. The tree could have grown as high as it possibly could, the shadow on the other hand will only extend as much as the sun does, it doesn't have a will of its own while the tree and sun do.

The thing is that you don't need to be better, just plain good is enough.

I wrote the poem myself really digs into the mood. You see you can go as high as you want but you can't quench the thirst to go that extra mile!

And yes I do keep a record of all my bouts on my site. It's a little link in the menu, it's got my bout with OlssenE, Arendje (GF) and you although I didn't get any time to update our bout, I'll do it soon.

PS: Just holler if you'd like to see the serve that never was!!

I never intended to make this one grunge but it just seems that whenever I make anything I end up with grunge! I'll try to make the next one different.

So as not to fall out of sequence, could you post a link to the 'serve that never was'? I would like to see it.

Thanks for the praise Zavaboy, and a fair point. I'm playing-off your serves for inspiration, Templar654, so you might save me from 'grunging-up' my own serves. Fantastic images so far, though. I really like that last one - and a neat couplet too!

I also kinda' like the idea of having this game displayed on your site.

I got up to a lot of smoking. I wasn't greatly impressed with Amsterdam. I enjoyed it, but it was like spending a whole weekend in Camden, London - with more expensive tea/coffee, beer, food, and magic mushrooms.

And customer service sucks, really bad.

Templar, it is currently 16:20 in the UK. I am getting ready to jump on the tube up to Marble Arch to pick up a projector, then I have to head over to The Excel centre at the docklands to help my colleagues de-rig half-a-ton of equipment. I should be home by about 20:00 hours. Upon my return home, I shall make myself a hot cuppa', light a cigarette, load-up Photoshop, and create an astounding and stunning masterpiece of crapitude for your thorough enjoyment. I should post the serve by approx. 00:00.
I may then stay online until about 02:30 (being an insomniac) in the hope of reading a comment or two upon your return to the game.

Again, I apologise for keeping you waiting, but I have barely had time to breathe in the last 48 hours. I don't want to quit this game yet (as we are less than half done) so don't give up me!

Okay - I know you are going to think I'm taking the mickey now, but I absolutely promise that I shall post this serve within the next 24 hours.
I apologise unreservedly to you, Templar - come hell or high water, even if my serve sucks (and it isn't great, I must say) I will have it posted here before 24 hours are up. I really haven't had my mind on the serve, and things have been a little on top of me the last week.

If I break this promise, may I be struck down with terminal flatulence and suffocate on my own malodorous vapour. (URGH!)


Of course, you know if I don't post, it is probably because I was struck down horribly... shudder

As a side note, because i need to share it - my mobile phone never did turn up in lost property (as if I expected it to). It was, in fact, taken and used within hours of my losing it. I had loads of free time remaining, so I have not been cost anything, and the phone/sim-chip is now locked and barred (though even I could find someone to unlock it again).
This means that I have lost all fifty-odd snaps I took while wandering the streets of Amsterdam at various times of day; a city that made me think of Terry Pratchett's Ankh Morporkl with every corner I turned. I cannot now share these pictures (some of which were actually pretty damn good, despite the T610's poor camera), nor do I have a photographic record of my first trip to Amsterdam.
Losing the phone doesn't matter - I really couldn't care less about such material possessions - and a replacement is already on its way. However, the loss of my photographs has hit me pretty badly.

My father (who's health has been deteriorating rapidly of late) made it over with me, and my younger brother met us there (he currently lives in Ireland where he is a chef). I have seen little of my ailing father recently - to my shame - and almost nothing of my brother for months. Neither of them had been to amsterdam before either.

With the stupid misplacement (and subsequent theft) of that phone, I have lost a great deal more than just a collection of blurry vacation snaps - I have lost possibly my last real chance to capture all three of us together and having fun. I don't know when I'll see my brother again, and I doubt I'll get a chance to organise another vacation for all three of us for several months at the very least - and all the time, my father's health is getting worse.

I could cry.


If I ever found another's lost property, I would hand it in without a second thought. This is not because I have now lost mine, but because that is the way I am (though I must admit that I possess an inexpensive umbrella I once found 'lost' on a London night bus).


I remember a story I was told about a man who found a fairly nondescript purse containing £300. He was tempted to keep it but found the address inside and realised it was only around the corner from where he was standing.
The woman who answered the door had been crying for hours by the looks of her. It panned-out that she had only just taken all of her money out to spend on an imminent vacation with her two young children. When she discovered she'd lost it, she realised that she could not afford to go ahead with it - a holiday planned already on such a meagre amount had now to be cancelled.
She was devestated and had run around everywhere that she could think of in her search, only to return home inconsolable. She picked up her children at the end of their school day and had already started to tell them the bad news when he'd rung the doorbell.

I don't know how true the story is, but I've always found it inspiring.

...though it could so easily have turned out to be the afternoon's takings of the local scag-dealer, I suppose.

Right - I didn't get it finished yet, and guess what? I was ill all day with a bad stomach. Talk about tempting fate! It is, in fact, the very reason I find myself awake right now.

I also threw in the quickly roughed-up poster cos I realised it was looking very bland without the rest (don't want you thinking I haven't been working now).

Obviously, there is much to be done - but I am building momentum.

I love creating pictures like this in Photoshop - splash a few bands of colour down and give them shape with the smudge tool. I like pastels, but doing this in Photoshop allows me to create what I'm imagining more easily.

There are more layers that I ommitted for the sake of modesty.

Good news and bad news. Well, bad news and worse, probably.
The bad news is that I just won't be able to finish this game any time soon. I'm sorry about that - my fortnight's holiday has come to an end and the busiest two months of the year have begun at work.

The worse, For me anyway...
Got some unpleasant news from the quack regarding a common but unpleasant condition of the digestive system. What fun!
I could blame stress, fatigue, or genetic propensity, but I think it simply comes down to poor diet. It's time to switch from dairy to soya for me.

Anyway, I think it might be best if you call this one quits. I will post my last serve here one day (maybe in about six weeks, the way my work diary looks right now). In the meantime, perhaps you might post your final serve to top-off the game?

I really enjoyed playing, but I've run out of steam.

If you are and would like further information about soya products from a user, please feel free to contact me. I have been using Soya products for years now and it's surprising how easy the switch actually was. I prefer Soya to dairy products now.

Tao, thanks - I am quite serious about making the switch from dairy. It would appear I have little choice as I have been told that a full recovery is not an option - just good living and reducing/avoiding the symptoms.
My greatest problem is that I love fatty cheeses and full-fat milk. I can stomach a change to soft, low-fat cheeses, but I'm going to have difficulty switching from milk - I drink the stuff like water sometimes.
Still, a life-style change for the best can't be considered a bad thing, even if forced by something as unpleasant as IBS.

Ok here's me serve. I wanted to do more but I've got a big day tomorrow (college starts yeesh ) so I quickly made a grunge, I tried to keep the 1945 thingy I was talking about. My next one will be more detailed sorry for this one to be a bit plain like I said big day.

Nice! I think it's more along history if you ask me but it does have a very little tech in it. Whatever, it's nice!

You should have a look at ImageShack - free image hosting up to 1MB per piccy.

Photobucket is another good free image host.

I can see the thumbnails, Temps, but I can't see the enlarged pics on your site.

btw, what i see of the image (i'm assuming it's the grunged up swastika) looks pretty good so far ...

I was manually renaming each file. I renamed 348 files before I came across this! I was 80% sure it wasn't in there after my first try in looking in my cache. My first try wasn't a success because I thought I saw the file yesterday, so I gathered all 20 or so files that were created on the 15 date. I took my second try because I wanted to be sure it wasn't in there. Now I'm sure it was and now I have it!

I will give you my serve! Now that I have it, I can make my serve! Muahaha!

I've been doing some more work on that last unfinished serve of mine - if it would be inappropriate for me to post it here (as I have officially left the game) then I'll understand, but if you and Z are okay with it, maybe we could turn this into a three-way game? It would give each of us at least twice as long to produce a serve, and might actually be a bit of fun.

I just got back from bowling and a overnight fishing/camping trip. (I was the only one who didn't catch anything btw. ) This ate all the power out of me and made me very sleepy, now I'm going to bed so I can wake up for church. I've just had a phone call to tell me that I am leaving on the earliest available flight for Barcelona. The wife of one of our crew has fallen very ill, so he must head back to the UK - I am heading out in his stead. I really am not looking forward to it.

The long and the short of it is that:
1) I will not be returning until later in the week, therefore, no post till then - so Zavaboy steps up to the plate again.

Guys, I got back from Barcelona, sick and exhausted through sheer intensity of work, and have been told that I'm going to Athens on Monday/Tuesday, "might be back Friday, maybe Saturday".

Suit's at the dry-cleaners, socks in the wash, and will-to-live slowly draining...

Athens will be a lot hotter than Barcelona, but the work should be a doddle - the kit-list is half as long and the conference is not quite so sophisticated. This time I'll remember to bring my swimming trunks!

Obviously, with all this going on I'm not around much in The Asylum, so it'll be at least another week before I re-join this game. My apologies once again.

You know I think we've just found a good idea for an Asylum Game

Play is just like any ordinary pong game but no versus anyone can join in and serve. I haven't thought up of alot of rules yet also who'd win??

I have a idea. Why don't we make serve 20 the last serve, have each participant pick one of their serves to put in the pot, then have eather a drawing or a vote for the winner based on what's in the pot. So, umm, is this a good or bad idea?

Guess who's back.

Athens wasn't terribly warm for the first couple of days - overcast, windy, cold nights... The last day was blazing hot though - a powder-blue sky with neither a cloud in sight nor the slightest breeze.
The work was a doddle in comparison to the torturous schedule in Barcelona, but I still didn't get the chance to chill-out in the sun. We were forty kilometres (about twenty-five miles) south of Athens, so I didn't really get the chance to see much going on.

No more jetsetting for a little while - the client's next oversea's event is back in Barcelona in a few weeks. I'm glad of the return to the relative calm of my usual punishing schedule.

___I digress...___

I'm happy with the game plan.

Once we're done, I would like to re-post the images from the game into their own clean thread, in order, numbered and with artist's name. I would give it a title like "Pong Me - Abridged". lol

With everyone's permission, I have every image so far created, and I can post them all once we're done.

I don't think there should be a winner - I think this could be considered a friendly frenzy (manic melee)? It has been too unstructured to be a competition.

Who's serve is it next, anyway? I might take some time to finish my last image (maybe update it with elements of the latest serves) but this serve should be someone else's.

I think you've scared them all off, VelvetRose.

Hi, and sorry once again for not producing a serve. My time is just not my own.

I'm currently standing in the opulent lower foyer of the Renaissance, Chancery Court Hotel, High Holburn, London.

Three days in a suit, on-site, and what am I doing? Looking after ONE sodding PC. I wouldn't mind being quite this bored, but they haven't even put me up in a hotel! This is a NASDAQ event for heaven's sake; I can't imagine the organisers being short of a few bob.

Thought I'd just let you know that I have actually been working on my serve - I'm trying to make more use of Photoshop's many functions in order to justify the aquisition of such a package, but I'm beginning to think that with my somewhat limited experience, PS-CS might be a bit of overkill.

It's called Photoshop Pong for a reason, if you take a previous serve, that would be like going back in time in a pong game. So you can't take a previous serve, sorry if that ruined all your secret plans.

Freaky, I had to play around a bit to get to your serve. The linky gives me an add for 100webspace.com, but doesn't give me your serve. I managed to get it though. Now what to do with it, I don't know. I'm just a noob when it comes to photoshop

Open the serve with Photoshop by first opening Photoshop and then go to [ File ] > [ Open... ], open the serve. At this point you use your imagination. Play around with Photoshop, that's how I got so good at it, also take a look at the hands on tutorials, which you can get to via the mini banner down at the bottom of any page on Ozone Asylum. Lastly, you have to have fun doing this, if your not having fun, then I suggest not doing it. Photoshop pong is summarized as: "Photoshop modified images past back and forth between 2 or more players having fun."

I managed to get it open and played around a bit so here goes my serve:

Unsurprisingly, I am (once again) working the next three weeks without a day off, and I've had a PC dumped on me that I promised someone, somewhere, I would repair.
Somewhere between these and various other appointments (to sort out wireless broadband for family members, clear out a garage for a friend, help another friend strip-down his engine block, and find myself a life) I think there is a possibility that I may get around to slapping together a serve before The Apocalypse.

I'm just a lowly desktop engineer with a peculiar history. I have worked in security, but never as anything quite so dramatic as a bodyguard. I've also worked as a waiter in a gourmet restaurant, an assistant chef, a salesman, a freelance technician/graphics-operator, a transcriber, a postroom manager, an office-runner then office-manager (buying, rather than sorting the pencils) for a television production company, a graphic artist, a street-sweeper (don't ask), and a labourer - amongst a great many other little things (and in no particular order).
I fancied myself as a writer for ages, but hadn't the staying-power for a novel - nor have a I written a real poem or short story in the last couple of years. I still have a passion for writing, but seriously lack a muse - any old abusive relationship will do, but a crazy, violent, emotionally chaotic slut-beast from hell really brings out the writing talent.
My current line of work is perfect for me - I have no qualifications relating to computers, but I've been a geek as long as I can remember, ever since I realised that re-programming my games on the Commodore 16 was a great way of defeating them (at the age of seven). Programming was definitely not my thing, so I went on to becoming as much of a technological Jack-of-all-trades as I could with my limited resources.
I freelanced as a technician for about a year and a half until I could coerce my current employer into giving me the job I wanted. Now I spend all my time up to my elbows in PC parts, or playing around with graphics, or doing complete software builds, or cabling networks, or configuring wireless, or troubleshooting problems, or supporting equipment in my suit... and so on.
As for the rest - not unless your average agent wears a black fedora (fashionably anachronistic) and sports a goatee...
...and I should really be typing all this into my alarmingly empty profile somewhere.

Now, when I snap my fingers, you'll remember nothing of this.

Just celebrated my 27th birthday this weekend. Had fun. New specs arrived in time. Dark green lenses in one pair (like British Racing Green, not limey, lol).

For some peculiar reason, I now possess a Zippo twice the size of an ordinary one (8 times the volume)! I think I might use it in a serve or summink...

I've got the bug to waste good sleepy-time on PS practice some time soon. This may, in part, be something to do with the fact that Half-Life2's anti-climactic ending has caused severe trauma to my usual gaming ardour. It may also be partially attributed to my current countenance on an upward bi-polar swing (which should be good for a few days yet) despite the miserable S.A.D-inducive climate.

All-in-all, I'm headed for a serious end-of-season bout of chronic insomnia, and I would love to jump back into the fray. I really don't want to see this thread end any time soon, and would be delighted to see some more creations from you lot (so far, all amazing ).

In the meantime, things being all over the place (like, my brain and stuff and things and all that) have taken their toll 'pon me today. It is after 2am and I should at least be attempting to go to sleep.

The Curse of Pong strikes again.

Seems my mojo had a fluctuation the other day. Within a 24-hour period, four laptops suddenly refused to play VCDs, two PCs began spewing nothing but junk at the printer, a projector died, and a machine I was cleaning up decided to stop booting - and all of this shortly after posting my latest serve.

...but all later, mysteriously, proved to be in fine working condition, though I did have to run a hasty repair job on the non-booter. This obviously means that Temps is the next victim again. This is like Final Destination with electronics fatalities...

I suppose, since I'm relatively healthy, I'll post the next serve within twenty-four hours.

Hey Temps, sorry about the (counts his fingers) umpty-day delay. As usual, my expression of a moment's freedom brought on a bad case of over-work and countless unavoidable appointments.
With a sudden in-flux of last-minute jobs, three birthdays (not all mine, of course) and a Mother's Day have monopolised my time a tad. The only time I've been able to get online is at work - where I have been banned from accessing Ozone Asylum!

Okay, I doubt the battery will last a frenzied art-attack on the motorway (hmmmm - car chargers..? ) but it does mean that I can take the odd quiet moment to work on something - especially if I'm staying at a hotel while providing on-site support. One of the perks of these squalid little havens for the errant technician, is that most provide internet access..!

This is turning out to be like page 4! Somebody serve! Oh and new discoveries. I was looking through all the previous serves and found out that *OH MY GOSH* Ebopedoce's first serve was ILLEAGAL!!! Note the file format... *.gif didn't we agree on a *.jpg only game... oh well what's done is done...

I'll try to keep up my respect *whoa I got one of those??* by posting a serve soon... soon as in a while... maybe longer... ... ... I'LL POST!!!

Sorry but that serve will have to wait for a while. I got exams the date just came in. They from the 23rd wish me luck. I won't be able to spare much time for PS and everything else related to computers! If someone else feels like serving go ahead.

I keep falling into the trap of thinking I'm going to have free time, but things never really work out that way. Positive upshot of the last few weeks is that I moved into a new flat (that's apartment to most of you, I'd wager). Much better location, easier travel, etc.
Work hasn't been unbearably hectic, but we've been moving offices too (funny how things always happen at the same time) so I haven't so much as fired-up Photoshop in ages.

This is where I would normally type, "but I should have some time in the next couple of weeks", but I've been down that road before, so I'll just have to see what happens...

Well it's obvious that me serving against my own serve is kinda stupid so someone's bound to serve sometime! I guess time will tell!

A be-stubbled, grey-suited figure rushes by the end of the corridor carrying a laptop bag and looking flustered, his face turning as though noticing something out of the corner of his eye. The footsteps falter a pace or two, then stop.

The sound of last foot fall slips away sluggishly through the still air. A beat or two pass.

A heel scuffs the pristine floor as the figure turns, rounding the corner at a more leisurely pace. He tuts and sighs, momentarily dismayed at his own absent-mindedness. It isn't a resigned sigh however, but more like that moment when you find the right road and realise that you knew where it was all along.

He wanders back among the images. You might not tell it by the square of his jaw or the set of his shoulders, but he is glad now; glad he walked back this way, and glad to be reminded of the task.

As if noticing Templar for the first time, he steps forward, beaming.

"Hey Temps - sorry. I've been so..." His mobile interrupts, chirping three sonorous notes. "Ah. Work calling."

He pats himself down before remembering the phone is stuffed into a pocket on his laptop bag.

"I've got to take this," he says, moving back towards the end of the corridor and fumbling with the velcro fastener, "but I'll be back. I've got a couple of ideas. I'll see you..."

He breaks-off to answer the phone, voice dropping into 'business mode'. With a nod and a smile to Templar, he walks briskly back the way he came. Before the end of a moment's thought, his voice trails away behind the footfalls. Somewhere, a door opens and the footfalls mingle with the muted babble of the asylum.

The door closes.

Hey Temps! I know I'm a bad, bad boy, but I have taken the day off work today. I took the day off work just so I could have the time to catch up on a few things (including this thread). If I can find the inspiration, I should post this evening!

Incoming!

A fumble in the corner... the door creaks open again.

Apparently someone in quite a hurry wizzed through the door... too bad for old Temps who has a liking to look in the corners. He rubs his nose in quite a frenzy and checks if nothings broken... looks down the corridor and there be a figure in the distance! Holding a bag that figure looming in front... confusion arises and Templar forgets the combination which was to his locker.

The figure looks familiar but blurry, perhaps by the red out from the door, a drip of something falls from old Temps nose and onto the floor; is it blood or yesterdays lunch he can't decide! Then all of the sudden the images wizz by the past that once was calls again! Was this the reason for him to cross this path or was he just finding his way to the carnival in the back!

Alas whatever the reason be, he is alone now in this wretched maroon sea... the figure in the distance starts to faint... so do the walls, the floor and the corners he so liked. The images they start to glow and shiver but still he can't remember... who in God's name... was that figure?

Templar all confused and disturbed sits in the corner that once was... the images in front start to grow vivid and dance in his hunt. The hunt which was to find the carnival but that figure was in front! Templar annoyed gathers his courage and moves towards the blur, one step a time this hair a mile seemed like forever. This disturbance which occured caused him to write this on the wall, "Beware the figure in the distance, whose shade but makes you fall".

But again he continues and moves ahead, when suddenly a sound beckons him to his bed. Mummies calling it's time to go, the figure still in the distance; How long will it stand there oh so tall? A reckoning for us all! Templar now scared just wants to go home, to bang his head on the walls; perhaps he'll find some peace this way, his nose still dripping from the doorway!

Damn your post ruined the mood!! It came before mine... way before mine! Oh well serves up!!

PS: Why you writting so small?? Fall in love with the [small] tag!

Two reasons:

1) Yes. Never realised before that the Small tag could be stacked (noobie).
2) My thinking is that this thread has so much chatter that it should be shrunk to conserve space! lol

Okay, okay - I sat down with my laptop, in the yard, enjoying a little sunshine, and spent ages just trying to think of something for this serve. Eventually, the fact that I had no ideas (while I had the time) despite having loads of ideas when time was otherwise sparse, became a bit of a frustration. I thought about time and inspiration - how they never seem to come together. I considered how time-travelling technology might help...

...and before I knew it, hours had passed. I'd been thinking about it so much that I hadn't actually done anything, and now I was out of time! It seemed that time and thought were proving to be mutually exclusive entities. I got lost in thought and ended up losing time altogether!

So this is the somewhat lacklustre result. I have to admit, after staring at the dull screen of my laptop in bright sunlight, I wasn't surprised to discover that the colour was way off when I checked it on my desktop PC.

BTW - check out the laptop screen for preceding serve references...

Yeah, yeah, I know - I should be flogged for the rhyme... :P

Hey Templar - I have just looked at that last serve and can't believe how ratty it looks. Yes, it certainly does look like a bit of a quickie, doesn't it?

I couldn't help noticing that loads of the previous images are no longer where they are supposed to be, so I have compiled a quick list from my hard drive (like Temp's update umpteen pages ago).



Each image is named "pongme",<serveNo.(##)>,<creator>,<imageshackNo.(###)> - so credits are in the names.

Stomach's holding up - I have made the full conversion to soya milk and wholegrain breads, avoided chips and fried foods in favour of salads and grilled.

Doesn't really seem to make an awful lot of difference. I'm probably dying or something - not that any old NHS doctor would notice or anythin.

Such is life (health, death, whatever).

I'll be doing some Photoshopping this weekend, so should have a serve over the next 3-4 days.

Hey WH was upto something in a previous post as I recall whatever happened to that??

My PC has developed a frequent seizure problem - random lock-ups that require rebooting. I'm trying not to get too frustrated with it - underclocked and super-cooled, it still freezes, and it isn't a software problem, so I'm thinking of stripping it down completely over the weekend and removing bits I don't need (like the TV tuner and extra network port). I'm also going to hard-wire it to my router as the freezes may have worsened since installation of my wireless card.

I suspect it is either a hardware conflict (not IRQ related) or a badly-seated card or connection somewhere. I'm losing hope of actually pinpointing it before I've either cured it or blown the machine altogether.

The lock-ups happen too frequently to give me time to do anything all that productive.

Ambient temperature has dropped perceptibly since the short storms today, and my PC is (mysteriously) better behaved. Perhaps I was a little hasty in my assumption about temperature. I should not overlook the possibility of an overheated graphics card.

Still going to strip her down a bit. May even try a new PSU (though mine should be beefy enough).

I'm also thinking that the 100V cold-cathode UV lamp might be a bit of overkill...
