Topic awaiting preservation: Tale of the cursed ring.. (Page 1 of 1)

Something really bizarre happened to me the other week. This story is completely true..

Some of you may recall me talking about my wayward brother in here.. well while he was "away" I was left the responsibility of looking after his girlfriends engagement ring that he had bought her. I had the ring in a small box at my flat but my brother wanted me to take it to my mothers house.
The night that I was going to my mum's I went to a party.. and got so plastered that I fell asleep there. When I woke up i the morning I found that someone had gone through my pockets and taken the ring.. Oh my what was I going to tell my brother!

Well, after some detective work I managed to find out who had stolen it.. it was a girl that was at the party as she showed someone the ring a few days later. Well, she was not a good sort and turns out that she had stolen someone's' car and while being chased by police at high speed she crashed the car and flipped it several times.. She ended up in hospital with her left arm amputated at the shoulder and half paralysed..

A few days later my brothers girlfriend was screaming at me for having allowed her ring to get lost.. she spouted a few unpleasantries and went home. While at her house cleaning a window only 2 hours later she slipped on a chair and fell thrusting her left hand right through the windowpane gashing it at the wrist right to the bone. ... she was rushed to the hospital for emergency micro surgery and the like etc etc.

I went to see her and was hit by the realisation that the girl that stole the ring lost her whole left arm ... and the girl that wore the ring almost lost the entire hand that she put it on.. even more uncanny was the fact that the both were in the same hospital one ward apart....

That's kinda freaky.

Actually, you need to get your ring finger bitten off then run over the edge with a scrawny Tarzan wannabe. Then it has to look like the movie's going to end 21 times before doing so.

Well, the ring is missing now.. and it turns out he bought it in some antique jewelry trinket store.. his girlfriend by the way severed three finger tendons completely in her writing hand...

Now, I'd find it very very interesting if you found out that how she fell the ring would have saved her arm... However unlikely that would be.

I don't believe in luck (well, I believe that people are lucky--meaning that they have a tendancy for good things to happen for them, but nothing mystical) fate curses or anything of that sort. So I'd have to say it kinda sucks that the ring is lost. But as long as you can convince her it was cursed, you should be able to get back on her (and thereby his) good side.

It really makes me wonder why the ring was in an antique store in the first place.... I hope the girlfriend recovers though...

Well as evil as I think she is and contributes heavily to the chaos in his life.. I would not wish that on anyone..

Was a police report filed on the missing ring? With that, your bro could probably get a replacement from the jewelry store...

Hope they both come out of it reasonably well - and that the little pickpocket learns her lesson!

No he didn't report the stolen ring. It got sold for drugs we think.. (I bet the dealer has a disaster soon..)
