say, isn't that the new Jet Li film directed by Quinten Tarintino (sp?) I'd really like to check it out, the previews are very promising. and with endorsement from the asylum, it's gotta be good, right? |

Yes it is the Jet Li Film, but it wasn't directed by Quinten, just produced or some such thing. |

Yeah. I've had the movie on DVD for about 1 year now. It's supposedly the highest grossing film in China, to date, and it hit all the foreign film festivals about half a year ago. |

I didn't really enjoy it. Like the plot wasn't too great. |

Guys, Quentin Tarantino had absolutely nothing to do with the film, they just put his name on the poster in the west to try and gain interest in the film, it's been out China for ages now. |

Yeah, I saw some posters in Seoul, Korea, like three years ago, and couldn't find it around here .. now it seems, after a great success in the american market, they are translating it into spanish and making it into our theaters .. how nice is that? |

I thought that Hero's plot was more like an oversea, teenie bopper, chinese soapopera... You know long, boring, and much bad acting. The only thing that made the movie alright were the fight scenes, and even they could have been much better. |

plot/story-wise it wasnt overly fantastic, but visually it was just incredible. i think when it comes to asian films (like this or crouching tiger) a lot of the subtleties are lost in the subtitles and translation. |
