Sometimes these things are popular at other times they are not, 'tis a seasonal phenomenoodle.

I've taken the liberty of using my own photographs as source material so there's no worry of copyright or anyones proboscis being pushed out of place
There are six photos, you can use all of them or just a couple, it's up to you.
The Challenge?
Create something out of them, do what you will, pretty or ugly. Photoshop them to your hearts desire. Post or link to the image you have created here always being mindfull of the size of course, thumbnails are good. I'm sure I've missed a lot of guidelines out but we can live with that

There are no winners or losers, try to have fun too

Just a quick thought, it is ok to use my images isn't it? I hope so, if not I can go and trawl through some stock image website, but that is such a chore.

Albert the spider has lived at the bottom of my garden for the past few months, I only call these fellas by their first name if we have been formally introduced.
Interestingly enough db he refers to humans as infestations as well
I'm going on walkabout now (actually it's mountainbikeabout) so I thought I'd put up what I have done so far this morning. I plan to carry on with it when I return.

OOo, sounds like fun! Nice images, Tao, those will be much fun to play with.

If you Photoshop long enough, you start to see the world in a different way. You start seeing RGB values and filter combos.

If you do 3d long enough, you start see in a different way as well.

Amer, the little girl you did going Huh? is a spitting image of my toddler hair and all. One of her favorite things is to wander around going Huh?

So, here goes. Nothing fancy, really. Displace on the docks with the swan pic, some noise, messing with curves and stuff, etc.

I don't do manips alot I'm more of a grunge fanatic still I do manage to do a little. This on'es not very WOW it's ok.

I just got back from walkabout last night and viewed the manips for the first time. Don't ya just lurve photoshoppin'.
Here are some thoughts I thunked whilst perusing.
warjournal, I too like the effect you've developed there (fragilewire) It reminds me of something, perhaps similar to the technique of inlayed gold or silver in wood or ceramic? Have you worked on a wallpaper version yet?
Amerasu, brilliant, I did not think of doing a gallery scene like that, surreal humour and gorgeous digital art.
silence, I'll have to try displace with the water myself, (did that make sense)? Nice idea.
docilebob, that's a much better winged effect than the one I did. The lower opacity really works on that.
I X I, heh, that made me smile . When I was very young I lived near the docks (about as near as in your image). I used to lie in bed at night listening to the ships foghorns in the distance, wondering....It's almost like you have captured a forgotten memory from my childhood. I'm still waiting for my boat to come in btw.
templar654, I like the duotone (or is it monotone, I forget now) feel in your manip'. I can hardly make out any of the source images in yours, apart from the flutterbye, oh, now that I've "got my eye in" I think I can see the docks too . You've reminded me to try grunging up a few images myself, I haven't tried that in ages.

Tao I used all the images but only kept the flutterbie in front everything else I used for texture the main image with the guy it was pretty blunt.

Templar--that's excellent.

Mine sucks compared to a few up above it--then again it was a quick one and my imagination only works at 5 or 6 in the morning--it's only 1:00 AM.

I just put a bunch of layer stylings in a mix in what was a semi-decent to have good composition.

templar .. i like the spider-legs-in-the-ripples effect.. very nice and eerily subtle (it WAS intentional, right?) ...

so, um, BH ... still waiting on your submission =)

I'd give some comments LiThiUM but I'm sitting in my college cafe and the system I'm using doesn't have a VGA card set yet... everything's yucky

But by the looks of what I can make out it seem's nice
