Hi there guys,

I've got a little issue with my unordered lists, I want to use bullet points but I find that the distance between them and the text is too large, is there a way I can change this?

TIA

Blaise.

If there's an element in your LI, you can use negative margin-left on it, but that solution is a bit ugly. Otherwise you can replace the standard bullet by a background image with which you'll have the control you want.

http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/generate.html#markers

marker-offset, along with margin and padding settings can do a lot with placement of bullets.

Using a background image as Poi suggested can yield some very interesting effects.

Good use of this can be seen here - http://www.justice4pat.com

There is also all sorts of great info on styling lsits to be found here -

(thank Steve for those links...)

Cheers guys, that's just what I need,

I didn't go with the background image, or list image idea as lists don't seem to be very supported across browsers, there are varying results, and if I have an item over two lines then my marker doesn't always fall where I need.

That marker information was interesting too, never knew there was so much to list items!

Cheers,

Blaise

Well, the bad thing about lists is that while the default presentation is about the same in all browsers, they achieve it in different ways and handle the list related CSS properties slightly different.
