I've been playing around with making some new stylesheets for my site, and I noticed that they have a horizontal scroll bar. But it's one that takes up the entire width of the page. I initially thought that it was something that I had done with the new styles, but it's on my current site offering as well.

Here's my current site -> http://lahutton.50megs.com
Here's sample 1 -> http://lahutton.50megs.com/testing/lcdf/blogit.htm
Here's sample 2 -> http://lahutton.50megs.com/testing/lcdf/blogit2.htm

Anyone have any suggestions about what might be causing this to happen? I looked at my stylesheet, and I'm just not seeing anything that would cause this. It's not even causing any problems, I just don't like it there for no apparent reason.

Thanks for any help.

Well, still haven't figured this out, but I guess I'll keep working on it myself.

FYI - the scrollabrs seem to be an IE only problem.

This could have something to do with certain elements being set to a width:100%; for block level elements, this is often not needed - see if you can take that out and still get what you want.

If not, sometimes it's the padding/margins that get added to the 100%, so play with that.

Hope that helps...

No horizontal scroll bar on amc in anything but IE5, in which browser the thrid link above (second redesign) was messed um. The entries were ligned up with the last menu item i nsted of being centered under them. There's a problem with the html in that one. I tried to validate the CSS but it wouldnt let me until the html was fixed. Check it over. Once that is fixed validate the CSS. Chances are it is valid (and they both look really nice too).
I think DL-44 is right. It's probably some width property or combination of properties that add up to 100% or more.

That's really odd that IE only had issues with it, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I changed the widths for my 3 main divs to 95% and the scroll bar went away. Wouldn't have thought it was that easy, but I didn't even think that IE might have been "adding wrong" to come up with something over 100%. Like I said, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
