Now I'd really like to see DGs ancient space invaders sig in here.
Recycled as it might be, it was still very cool.

Lots of really good entries I find apon my return, nice work
I'll have to get busy. Are these card thingys like the Pokamon games? I have to admit I don't see many new games (post 1990's) living under this particular stone in my cell.

being just a tad more specific, the card wolfen did is yu-gi-oh and the card jung did is classic Magic: The Gathering.

I realise now this is not exactly how these tile games work, there are usually more tiles and there is crucially one tile missing, to facillitate swapping places in the real version.
I however, only recalled this fact after I had nearly completed it. So I thought I'd post it up anyway till I made another version

Tao, I'm already looking forward to the new version

About Jung's latest sig;

I don't know if this is a possibility; but if you make the console and the screen two separate images, you can cut dozn on filesize and colors.

And, is that antialiasing I see on the screen? Why not use pure pixels? Did you resize or something?

mahjqa, it worked! Enticed as I was, I decided to get my teeth into this version.

Yeah, I did resize... I tend to work large and resize down when satisfied with the thing.

Is that a mistake?

I am very new to animation and even newer to Image ready. Before I just used Animation Shop that came bundled with Paint Shop Pro but like the freedom to go back and forth which Adobe allows so easily.

But will see about the two image idea...

Peace,

mas; I seem to have missed it. Where'd you send it?

Tao; that one's even better!

Jung; Working big and resizing down is often good (if you make small mistakes nobody will notice after resizing) but since you're emphasizing the low-tech graphics of the game, hard pixel edges would emphasize that.

then again; if you really want to go low-tech you can add scanlines and stuff. Don't mind me, just tossing out ideas.

Added a little glowy thingit was a good idea at the time but now I'm not so sure
Also. I tried to resize it from 110px square 100px to make the filesize a bit smaller only to find it went over 60kb
I usually aim to keep sigs well below the 50kb mark, but sometimes I miss
[ed] adding silly stat' to cover up my spolling correction[/ed]
I'd say 98.5% of my sigs fall well short of the 50kb.

just thought i would throw this sig in the chatter area to let y'all know that comments and advice are welcome.

...and i know it could use my name, but it's already got my hands in it! Was maybe thinking of making the title "Scissors Paper Rock!" to "Scissors Paper Rock with Reitsma!" - but that can wait until after the weekend

Ok... Worked a little on cleaning up the Atari Adventure sig. Added a retro TV and tried to smooth out the animation (with little to no luck) and tried to seperate the two images by removing the console but couldn't get it to work right. The re-set button doesn't sync up well if in a seperate image... Not sure.

But I do like how the red dragon goes after the dude a little more in this version but besides that I think I like the first one more...

*sigh* I just get in such messes when I try to animate... *walks away in disgust*

Peace,

- Jung

Nice work reitsma, I was thinking of doing the same thing, (paper, scissors and rock). The way I envisioned it was far too complicated. Your version is much better than the one I had planned, I never thought of using the rotator at all.
I like your Atari console Jung, never had one myself though. Do you find that ImageReady is easier/better to use than Animation Shop in PSP?
I had never ventured into ImageReady untill I was encouraged to do so by some inmates here a couple of years ago, that was a bit scary

An awful lot of submissions... and so far I like each and every one of them. Picking the best is going to be tough. I'm keeping this open for submissions, officially 'til 0:00 AM tonight (European time) but most likely I'll start judging at about 11:00 AM tomorrow, European time. If you still want to submit something, better hurry

cheers tao,

that was a fun part, actually - i hadn't implemented the PHP rotator before, so it was an enjoyable challenge.

of course, it leaves me a little frustrated when my online hands beat my real world hands... but at least i win every time!
