I thought of a black hammer when doing it.

Uh oh....I seem to be abnormal - I chose orange and an AJ
I've conformed to these tests in the past, but then Im a tecchie who's looking at a predominantly orange site
Yeah, AJ definitely can't have been a good result....

heh well the only reason I posted it is cuz on the other forum (where I got it from) noone said 'red hammer' yet the test claims that 98% choose that... kinda funny

blue screwdriver...
Of course, the questions before hand have nothing to do with it. "red" and "hammer" are just very prominent answers for such questions - very bold and symbolic.
98% seems a little high, but I have no problem beleiving that the vast majority do respond that way.

Interesting, it probably works by making you think logically so much that when you're asked a creative question, you come up with the most generic answer possible.
Personally, I chose a yellow hammer, but that's because I'm working on a predominantly yellow POV-Ray image right now. =)

Actually, I think it works on prototypes.
Ask someone to think of a bird. Chances are, they'll think of a robin. The robin is the prototypical bird for most people, since it incorporates most general features of birds.
So, what is the prototypical tool? Chisel came to mind for me, though I would expect hammer and screwdriver to be the most common tools people think of (and glitch to be one of the least, liorean. Very few tools I know of morph!)
And what about colors? Notice most people either said a color close to red (orange, yellow), or blue. Those are what I would expect to be the most common colors to jump into one's head.
The questions are SUPPOSED to get your mind off of the tool and color, so you think of a "random" one... but I think in this case, it worked against it.

I believe my love of orange over the last 6 years has been a direct result of the good Doctor Ozone. There was a thread a while back that even suggested that his use of orange had broad influence on the internet itself. What do you think about that?

I've seen the exact same thing before, the questions above greatly vary, but I've never once thought of the red hammer. And too many sums, waste of time, I was hoping that you'd get a mental block or something trying to figure out something in the end. Not sure what I thought of this time, actually I dont think I bothered cause I seen it before, but green/black something usually.
Edit: ^^ Bugimus: I'd agree but I recon the half life type/related sites is what has increased the web's orangeness mostly(Orange on Grey is very widespread, its the new green on black ). But in this test, orange would of course come to mind your looking at it, other than the blue background, its all shades of orange.

I got red hammer, but I've taken this test before as well, so I was already subconsciously aware of the answer. Not to mention after I thought "red hammer", I thought "yeah.. that's the 'correct' answer."
