Topic awaiting preservation: Spiral sig and action~ (Page 1 of 1)

While I have been waiting for inspiration to strike for a suitable entry for this months excellent "Big Sig" I have been playing in PS and trying my hand at some "tribal art" as mentioned in the Photoshop section here
In that thread Mahjqa describes how you can start with a circle and using circular selections and intersections, can come up with some interesting shapes.
I had a little play and came up with this shape first time. Actually this is the shape after I used lighting effects on it

It wasn't going to make the grade as "tribal" for me, so I did what I often do with odd things in PS, I used one of my favourite actions on it. This I often refer to as "punting"
The action is called 18Deg360. It just creates a copy of the shape layer and revolves it 18deg. It does this 20 times till it goes through 360deg. In this case I only needed 10 layers to make the image, but I did not want to make a new action so I just turned off the other 10 layers.
I could have made the action flatten all the layers but quite often you can get nice effects by playing around with the layer blend modes. This is what I did here using Luminosity for the top 5 layers and Linear Dodge for the bottom 5

I've just realised that I can't save just one action, you can only save a set. So here are a few of my homemade actions in one set, nothing special here but you are welcome to have them. Actions
Perhaps we could have an Action and Brushes thread, where we could share some of our favourite hademade brushes and actions. Waddya fink?

Tao, the one top left is really really nice, a wee bit more contrast/darker color tone on the "top" layer to get the name out a bit more perhaps.

Sorry, I have not had much time to answer mas. Generally, the actions I have used here are ones that I have made for other reasons, and found them very useful, especially the repetitive ones.
Hopefully when I get back from walkabout in a week or so time I'll add some new actions with examples. It would have been easy to flatten all the layers made by one or two of these actions in the action itself, but I like to keep them seperate at first tp experiment with layer properties, opacity and such.
