Topic awaiting preservation: Firefox 1.0 = without flash? (Page 1 of 1)

A couple of weeks ago i was happily browseing with firefox 0.9x everything worked fine flash, shockwave. Then i installed Firefox 1.0 PR and reinstalled my plugins. But no Flash, i deinstalled flash reinstalled flash nothing happens. I figured a little bug is nagging me. A week after the release from FF1.0 i deinstalled the PR edition and installed the final edition but again no flash. I guess i messed up somewhere in the proces so i reinstalled the flash plugin...without any succes.
Maybe i has to do with the place where FF lives: D:Program files/firefox the plugin directory is one level below this. Maybe my win2k is acting strange (i wast admin when installed FF or the flash plugin. Google did not help very much neither did the FF support pages.
If anyone has a clue where i should dig to solve this problem he or she could realy make my day...

*Be admin when doing all this*

uninstalled Firefox
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\**username**\Application Data\Mozilla\ - delete the firefox folder ( you might need to have "show hidden folder on" that in "tools>folder options> view tab".

reinstalled Firefox and reinstall flash with the lastest form macromedia

See if that works. Firefox has a hidden folder with all the stuff you make and I think preset stuff too. But If you fully delete it all and start again it should work.

Might just been a file not changing or updating. I just overwirted PR with 1.0 and my bookmarks where messed up (Could not add any) and the personal bar bookmarks where missing when starting it up. So just set out to get rid of it all and start again.

Mozilla Team say uninstall old version before updating, maybe because some files that are not removed, may not change, etc.

Just rid it all and start again.

As for bookmarks, always save the old bookmarks file before installing a new version. Then you can import that file and have it work perfectly fine, except that you have to move your saved Bookmarks Toolbar Folder content into the new Bookmarks Toolbar Folder.
