I have a bunch of thumbnails when you click on one of them you see a bigger version of them on the right side, I now would like to pass a value to a 'detail' link so when it opens a new window it knows which picture to load in it.

You are being quite vague with your terminology, so it will be quite tricky to give an accurate answer.

What i need is to create a function to send a parameter to the 'detail' link so when it is clicked it opens a new window an loads an specific image in it.

I havent built a website in centuries, I cannot remember how to do this.

Anything would help, just a link and a hint would be greatly appreciated.
