So here we go. C&C appreciated, of course. Just an image dump of some stuff from the last two days. Not my best work (as I said, it's just from the last two days. I think I'm improving though. Slowly. God, it's depressing).

Here I am:

(I realize that the neck extends too far. It wasn't planned.)

Here are pen drawings. The photos are horrible, I know. I still lack a scanner, and my camera sucks. So please excuse the blurry pictures.

I always enjoy checking out your stuff, cfb
keep striving to be better and you will eventually get there.
keep practicing
keep doodling
keep up the damn good work (much better than anything I could put together)

and yes, IMO you are getting better.

Thanks I X I

Yeah, I think I'm getting better - I just need focus. I'm attempting to put together some finished works. Aside from that, if I don't have 5 finished works for my AP Studio Art portfolia by Dec. 10, I get an F for the term. Heh. So the pressure's on.

Unfortunately, I was planning on projecting the first pen drawing "The Aristocrat" onto a canvas, blocking the forms, and doing a stylized painting. But the picture was stolen . I'll take it as a compliment, I guess. Eh.

...and improving you are cfb. Gosh, five finished pieces by December 10th, you have got a bit of a jobbie on my friend but this, I feel, I know you can do.
I have a terrible time trying to decide when a piece is finished myself. Quite often I carry on working on a piece (keeping back-up copies/layers) until I find I have overcooked it. Then I go back a couple of steps
The still life you have just posted is great, especially as it only took you 30mins or so.

I really dont like the way this turned out. It was rushed - very - and there's many, many problems. And the work looks sloppy, above all. And the composition is bad.

I did figure out a cool way to improve composition though. I tend to do lots of pages filled with sketches. cut/paste them onto larger sheets. anyways.

yeah.

Okays. Stuff:

The first image, I believe, is inspired by something I either saw on eatpoo or on conceptart. Like, almost exactly, or something. If someone can identify it, it'd be appreciated. Likewise, I think the pattern below the second is inspired by a brendan pic.

fyi: all the lines/borders are actually straight irl, but the camera/paper makes it look otherwise.

anyways, crits and comments would be appreciated.

the colors are a little wierd in this photo, too. it doesn't look like this: more pastel.

these are going to be colored:

and this to be scanned, the lines removed, cleaned up, etc, and printed larger:
