A friend of mine has a game going based on Neverwinters Night (Fantasy Role Play). He asked for me to do a website for them and I wanted to see what you all thought of the "logo" that I have done for them.

Thanks in advance!

Nice logo I would like to see how it works into the site.

Also as a side not, when I click the link it opens up this page again. I had to copy and paste the link into the adress bar. It was very weird.

Looking good CPrompt. I've often thought of getting NWN, never played it though. The Logo looks fine to me, if I were to play around slightly with it I'd try lowering the opacity on the highlights a tad or add a touch colour to it. That's just me though.

thanks for the comments. looks like these guys don't like it for some reason.....

of course they can't tell me what they don't like or what they want but they know they don't like it. oh well.

i actually explained to them what I was going to do and they were all into it, but i guess i didn't execute it very well. Well........back to the top
I think they want something animated in flash.....i don't do flash though

Did you make a bigger version? I'd love to have a gander at that C:\ cheeky chappie that I am The last logo that I tried to make for some people in a clan, had the brief " We wanna have something that is simple with intricate carving??? I had to do a mind meld before I produced something they "collectively" liked.
Coincidently I've just started trying to do a few things in FlashMX. Doing mini animations in ImageReady has given me a taste for attempting longer or bigger animations, so I thought I'd try that. It looks like a steep learning curve though.

Tao,

No I don't have a bigger version. That is the big version. The one that was going to be used for the website would be smaller.

I tell ya, it's like pulling teeth with these guys. They want my input on "what i think" but they don't like any of it yet they can't tell me what they do want......... Unfortunately it is a freind of mine who is at the head of it all.

I can probably do something animated for them (if I knew what that was) but they want this website up and done by the 1st and it's got a long way to go. Lots of custom stuff with a forum and ........ uggghhh..........

my friend said something about having the paper kind of roll off of the anvil then little "sparkley" thing flutter off and the words "Forge your legend today" appear.

Ok, I run a NWN Server (The Playground - under Action) - me and some other builders created it, and I put up the server. It has been going strong since. Building is an incredible thing with NWN. Simply incredible. One can do model building, scripting, and even get into Photoshop with textures for models, and 3DMax for the actual 3D objects.

On to the logo. In and of itself, it is nice, smooth work.

But for NWN, it is missing some essential stuff - NWN, for example - look for that font and use it. I like the Anvil, with the Scroll on it - that is well done.

Other than that, for a NWN Logo, it is rather bland. Maybe some screen shots from the PW itself, and then have the transparancy dropped for a background?

Think - a PW is for Playing, adventuring, exploring, and having fun - try to capture that, and what is unique about this particular PW, in the Logo.

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you to reach that 1st deadline C:\ Good luck on that my friend
That sounds facinating WebShaman. So many aspects to get involved in. Excuse my stupidity but what does "PW" stand for. It's probably obvious, but the obvious often eludes me.

Tao, if you want to take a stab at an animation I can send you the PSD files. I can give you credit in the source code or something.

At any rate...Na zdraví

I got the same thing.

Im no expert but i like it.
I would try to put the top txt, NCS slightly behind that Anvil to get more depth.
But i wouldn´t know if it works.
Nice picture.

Spellbinder.

Had to skip the sig, it was sooooo BIG!

Thanks C:\ but I will respectfully decline that offer. I just like doodling and I'm def' not up to doing graphic work for other people, If I ever get good enough I'll be asking for work all over the shop meanwhile.....*runs off to the Photoshop Lab

I have no idea why the link points back to this page. Strange.........

Tao, you can do it! I have too much on my plate right now to start learning how to do flash or even a gif animation for the logo. I think that animation on a logo is way overkill but that's just me

Haven't read the above so I dont know if this has been said, the text doesnt 'interact' (for lack of a better word blend or something) with the background. you could brighten the text and replace it with glow with a larger black glow so it contrasts a lot when it hits the image. Where Im on about is the letter "f" and the words "your legend today", maybe darken the image fadely behind there. The NCS may be better lowered slightly under the anvil edged and the other text moved back so it fits nicelys between the anvil and the L on "legend".
In general though it could do with a little sharpening on the bright edges.

Well I guess thats what I'd do but whatever, it looks good as it is. but where its positioned on the web page and the design of it will really show how it should be.
