To boldly go (Cassini/Huygens)
I've been following this mission for quite a few years now, it has already been a great success in so many ways and soon, Jan 14th, the probe Huygens is due to land on Titan.
I could witter on about it here for hours, but I thought some good links would do better

I've just found this one, I'm not too sure about the site, but the links they have there to images are great CICLOPS
I must admit that I am completly taken by this mission. It inspires me on a number of levels.

i've been following very slightly on this but it is pretty exciting.

I actually did a report on this in high school back when they launched it around 2000. I remember thinking that it would take forever before it actually got there. Apparently it's been forever.


 

Today is the day! Wooohoooo! I hope everything goes ok....

I've been out all day so I am only now trying to collect as much information as I can. Does anyone yet know wether it came down with a splash or a crash yet?

Solid. Wow. Damn. But the Flows...I wonder what those are, and what is causing them? Something seems to be renewing the planet's surface on a relatively regular basis.

It also starts to go into some detail about the organic tar there is and, as I said here,:

it is stuff on tholins that I'm really waiting to hear about as these look to hold the answer to the origin of life on Earth and Titan's atmosphere is thick with them (I assume that is what is raining down to form the tar).
