Does anyone have a script that does the whois lookup that gives the city assoicated with the ISP or Host of an IP address?

I hate to admit it, but the only place I've seen it is on a dating site:

"Find a date in (TACOMA) tonight!!!"
"Find a date in (OMAHA) tonight!!!"
"Find a date in (CHICAGO) tonight!!!"
"Find a date in (BANGLASDESH) tonight!!!"


Anyone have a script that does this. VBScript would be nice but I can translate jsp if I have to.

Download a program called Visual Route, that will do a traceroute of an IP address and trace it back to where it originated from, usually only to the web proxy point though.

Now, not to sound suspicious or anything, but, why do you need to know?

oooh I get things like that for atlanta, GA and birmingham, AL all the time even though I live 3 hours from b-ham and 5 from atl. I guess it's all in which servers my connection bounces through.

http://www.geobytes.com has a very useful lotta developer tools for just what you're talking about, apparently their site is having troubles atm but check back, it'd be worth it to you I think

Really, I'm interested in it because it's just so cool. My website has a link to my "hit list" and it would be neat to see where my hits are coming from without me having to individually cut-n-paste the IP address into ARIN's whois database.
