I am looking for an open source calendar program which allows for appointment to be scheduled using any arbitrary amount of time.

I could write something to do this, but would rather not have to.

If you know of any calendar programs that would meet these needs I would appreciate some feedback.

I have looked at a large number of solutions for this, but I don't have any personal experience with this, and if you do I would love it if you would share.

Thanks a lot,

Dan @ Code Town

I've got no real personal experience, however whenever something like this pops up I recommend a visit to http://www.opensourcecms.com/ in the section for groupware every little app has a calendar in it.

The thing is, these apps are usually based on modules taken from free standing projects so it's quite easy to find out if the calendar is available separately somewhere else.

I know the Doc made a really nice web calendar in php/mysql for himself a while back, don't know if that's available.

Not sure what you mean by "arbitrary amount of time" but I'll offer some personal favorites:

Easy Simple Calendar is what it says, easy and simple. Elegantly done. More of an "event calendar".

Web Calendar not easy and simple but every feature you could possibly want is most likely there. Th is more of a collborative calendar system but can be used as a simple event calendar as well.

I've messed with both of these and they are both top-notch calendars.

Doc had made a kickass online PHP calendar with gobs of cool features a ways back.

Not sure what came of it, if it is available for use and what not, but worth following up on anyway...

{{d'oh! just noticed the last part DMS' post. ingore me then

well, the doc's system lives at http://www.primicon.com and you can register all right - but apperantly you don't get any resources.
I've seen it in action, though.
It is rather nice.

I went with WebCalendar. It is pretty robust my time is going to be spent scaling down the features.

Thanks all,
