Hey, I've searched Ozone, Hotscripts and PHP Resources for a good PHP cms. Most of the ones that I found on Hotscripts is a link to an advertisment site or it's not translated into English.

I just need a cms system in PHP and mySQL is fine.

Small requirements:

WYSIWYG editor for any page.
Able to allow certain people to edit only certain pages (set permissions)
Uploading pictures.
Free

and that's it. Not really a lot but must of the stuff I saw on the sites given above didn't have anything.

Thanks in advance!

No prob, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something there.
I looked briefly on the CMS Lite section and the first one there seems like a lightweight and nice option.

Shouldn't be hard to pop in a wysiwyg editor either if you absolutely need it.
I've got a php-plugin for that should you need it.

DMS,

I'd love to have the php-plugin. I think the first one would work fine. There is another one that I might use and it has a WYSIWYG editor built in.

Thanks!

(oh, do note that it requires IE on win, anything else generates a regular text box)

Mambo is just the thing for you see www.mamboserver.com. Its an php cms which uses css/xml/xhtml templates. Just write your own templates set the user restricions and you are good to go.
With modules you can ad a lot of functionality like an wysywig editor or an ftp script. If mambo is too heavy for your need there is also Limbo which can be run without MySQL database only flat files and php. See http://www.limbo-cms.com/
both are easy to install and easy to edit.

Rinswind 2th,

thanks for the links but the Mambo seems that the demo is down and nothing shows when I check out the Limbo site.

they both seem like somehting I would be interested in but I might have to just download them and test drive them on my linux box

thanks!

Rinswind 2th,

they keep changing things on me so I am just now getting around to setting up the CMS so they can go live.

I checked out the demo of Mambo and it looked great. I was just wondering about something though. It seems that you have to add a menu button for each page created, what if I already have the menu set.

The reason I am asking is that the menu my buddy wanted used dhtml for a little drop down. If they start to add pages and it *has* to have a menu title, that could really start to screw things up.

does that make sense? I'm a little under the weather and the codine in the cough syrup i'm taking makes me a little fuzzy headed

If i am correct you could use serverside includes for mambo, try puting the menu in an SSI (just a sugestion i did not experiment with it...)
