DON'T FALL INTO THE HANDS OF A HOST CALLED LYPHA!!!

Why?
I lost all my databases and they have not been restored at all by the host. I have clients on there! Though not all my clients' databases disappeared, I lost mine, my sisters' (I have two sisters), a client's shopping cart which luckily I had a backup of. Now I AM PISSED!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!

I normally never say this word, but I think it best expresses how angered I am... FUCK!

Worst thing is that they lie! I sent in a support ticket and they said everything is working fine, I reply saying that my databases are gone and they reply saying the they had a corrupted drive and they were able to restore information up to Feb 4. At this point, I just got much MUCH madder at them, my data still isn't there!!!

I knew I had a problem with Lypha from the time I started with them, but they were cheap and we now have a larger client base. One thing that hurts, I'm still using some old scripts I made a while back that I didn't add a very important function to, that function is portability. Now I am developing better apps that are VERY portable, ones that I can install to any PHP/MySQL site in seconds or minutes rather than hours or days.

Only go with Lypha as your host if you have a personal site nobody really looks at and want poor service and frequent downtime (1 time every few days spanning from a few minutes to a few hours of downtime). Let's just say you could easily do a better job serving from your own home!

We have to move to another host now... we have Network Eleven in mind. I've seen much better.. ahem.. FAR better service than Lypha. I have a friend on Network Eleven that allowed me to share some of his space. It's nice, very nice.

I hate to say it....but....

if you're hosting client information on a host you *know* to be unreliable, simply because they are cheap.....

shame on you.

had to be said.

Their biggest problem was downtime here and there... I wasn't expecting lost data, so yes.. SHAME ON ME!

More importantly, you should always have backups of client-related data since you should always store that data offline first.

Yes, I know...

Anyway, my host finally restored my databases to Feb 5th and now I leaned my lesson: Backup, backup, backup!
