Topic awaiting preservation: HomeSite 5.5 Problem (Page 1 of 1)

Just upgraded to HomeSite 5.5 and I'm already having a problem with it.

"Force filenames to lowercase when inserting links" under Settings > Markup Languages is most certainly checked, but with none of the A or IMG tags I insert are the filenames lowercased.

After installing first as an upgrade, I then uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, making sure I deleted all remaining files, and it's still not working. Any ideas?

FYI, running it on Windows 2000.

Yes! Figured out how to do it!

Had to go in and edit the markup that generates the dialog box. Very tired and going to bed now ... If anyone's interested, I'll post instructions tomorrow.

Sorry to say but I can't stand HTML Beauty. (I feel safer saying that since Mr. Maxx hasn't been seen around these parts in a while.)

Actually, I was using Beauty there for a while, and liked it, but there were a couple things missing that drove me crazy. Line wrapping was one of them; the others I can't remember, but were small nifties that I had come to rely on.

Anyway, for anyone interested, here are the instructions I posted for the goons in the HomeSite forum who couldn't help:

1. Under your HomeSite installation directory, go to Extensions\TagDefs\XHTML.
2. Open img.vtm. You can do this in HomeSite.
3. On line 153, change ...

src=$$Q$$uriSrc$$Q

... to ...

src=$$Q$${Lcase(uriSrc)}$$Q

... and save.

4. For the HTML version of the dialog, go to Extensions\TagDefs\HTML and open Img.vtm.
5. On line 449, change ...

=$$Q$$urlSrc$$Q

... to ...

=$$Q$${Lcase(urlSrc)}$$Q

... and save.

6. Restart HomeSite.

You should also be able to do this with the anchor-tag dialogs, but I can't tell you the line numbers myself because I haven't done it just yet.
