How do I find information about my computer's motherboard?

Recetly I wanted to upgrade my CPU. This became more difficult that it would seem. Many different chipsets and socket information is needed. Since my computer is OEM, the documentation is minimal on what is actually there.

This progam will also give you detailed information about other hardware components on your computer.

Si Software's Sandra 2005 at time of writing this, gives much information about your computer's hardware.

If you have an Intel cpu, then you can use one of these utilities to scan the processor for information.
