my buddy likes it but it needs something more or less. kinda plain jane and need a fresh set of eyes to look at it.

here is the layout.

Just a few notes. THe bottom footer will be to the bottom at all times

The first button on the menu shows the rollover effect

there will be stuff under the menu (latest screenshot, polls, etc...)

The pure white text hurts the eyes...maybe a few tones "dirtier"?

I love the anvil. Nice with the pics.

You're right. the text is too white. maybe a color closer to the color of the scroll on the anvil?...

Very very nice, I really like the simplicity. The only thing I dont understand is why you're using an image instead of text

Koroshi, thanks. It's just a mockup. The way i always do a site (i'm sure most people do), I make a complete mockup in PS post it for the people to look at and if they aren't cool with it, I fix it, if they are cool, then I start cutting it up.

There will be text there I guess I'm going to start cutting it up and doing the programming side and stuff
