Today is a very sad day....my xbox has gone to silicon heaven. After many hacks, and even several similar operations on that particular xbox, something finally went wrong. Worst of all, I have no idea what it was - I did md5sums and everything. And now this formerly awesome machine is nothing more than a cute flashing red and green LED.

Well, I'm off to mourn :\

Perhaps if you want to supply more info, we can bring it back to life?

I have 2 modded XBoxes and one of them was previously clinically dead, but managed to bring it back again.

What exactley were you doing prior to its demise ? Have you been tinkering with the BIOS ? If so, then it might be possible to put or replace it with a ModChip.....

Give more details and see if there is anything that can be done.

No Sig ?

Let us know when the ceremony will be held.

So long, RIP poor little xbox.

Yes, much BIOS tinkering - it was a TSOP flash. I was flashing on cromwell. Put it this way - I'm on good terms with (/whatever the correct term is) the maker of cromwell, the maker of the smart-xx modchip, the leader of the xbox-linux project and the guy who invented the TSOP flash concept. And basically, it could be fixed if I stuck in a modchip, but I was thinking of hanging it on the wall as a testament to the fact that I should be more careful with my hacking. Up till now, all my hacking has been a little callous, and it has all worked, until tonight.

My personal box is TSOP'd and i have never looked back, mainly for the reason that if i screw things up tinkering, then can always count on a chip to bail me out... I say, stop your moaning, get it rechipped and bring that baby back to life and continue the XB crusade.

No Sig ?

Little? Since when is the leviathanous beast of a system little!?

I have yet to attempt Linux upon it, myself... fun project that I havn't had the time for yet.

(And, for the record, I AM, indeed, an Xbox fan. )
