img src="javascript:" etc. aside, this approach looks interesting. Doesn't work in IE unfortunately this time around, but then again what does these days.

It uses the data: URI syntax instead of javascript:, etc. (and in the provided example, base64-encoded PNG data.)

We already talked about that in Image generation using javascript / and a hint for shingebis.
And I can confirm you that the data: URI scheme can do wonders. Trust me.

I thought this may have already been covered, sorry I haven't been up-to-date in reading the more recent threads. I recalled image generation always being a hot topic here, so I was quick to post this after reading about it elsewhere.

Apparently I didn't remember that I even commented - hmm, maybe my memory is shot too! Yikes.
