I've looked around a little bit, but nothing's jumped out at me so far.

Anyone know of a way to hook two extra monitors up to a laptop (three total screens)? Preferably without any additional cards...

I found I can hook one into the docking station, then I can hook another to the video out on the side of the laptop, but it just mirrors the same display to both of those (and they're both a bit dimmer than if I just have one hooked up, which makes sense), which doesn't buy me the extra bit of space I'm looking for.

UltraMon doesn't seem to be able to do that (unless I missed an options or configuration somewhere).
And MaxiVista needs a second PC/laptop to make a third monitor, which I don't have.

It looks like I need a special card or adapter, if it can be done at all?

Thanks,
LF

You will need something else to do this. You always need an extra card (or a video card that supports two monitors but that's basically a two-cards in one) for a dual monitor setup.

That's kinda what I figured. I was just hoping there was some way to "cheat."

Ask yourself why you want this extra monitor space, there are programs out there who could extend your desktop beyond the physical size off the screen. Most off this programs are able to scroll the desktop or you could click the desired section with buttons on the task bar, a bit like Xwindows on linux, some graphics card drivers are able to do this.

<edit> there are some tools on this page: http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/system/fwdesktoptools.html </edit>
