Some people just like the mixes.
Some people like the melody.
Some people like the rhyme.
Some people like the violence.
Some feel it empowers them.
Some feel it makes them safe.
Some feel it's all they've ever known.

etc

It influences people the same way any music (and often just about anything period) influences people.
