I just registered my first domain at godaddy.com and I want it to direct to my server running ISS6, but I'm not sure what I need to do. I think I have the domain set up for the correct name servers, although not 100% sure. I currently have my server working on a dyndns.org address. |

I'll try running my own name server. I found the DNS manager, but there's a lot of things to set that'll take me awhile to figure out. I'll try searching around for tutorials for awhile and check back here tomorrow if anyone has some useful info on using the DNS manager. |

Actually I've used Dyndns and url=http://www.directupdate.net/]DirectUpdate[/url] for a while and never had a problem. (Actually now I don't use a custom name I use one of theirs which is a bit easier and free) |

I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible, meaning if I don't absolutely need to pay more to get what I need, I'll go for the best free option. The way I see it, running my own DNS is the best way, I just need to learn how to use it properly. I can keep my dyndns address if needed, but I doubt that would be the case once I get everything working with the new domain. |
