Doesn't seem to speed things up too much for me... of course, I live by an educational institution, so that probably has some large effect on my original speed. Been at it for an hour or so and it says 12.3 seconds saved. wee

Curious about the security implications of this. When you deactivate a site (from being accellerated), does it really go straight to the site only, or does Google still retrieve information?

Sounds cool, but in the faq, under question 2 there is this: "Compressing data before sending it to your computer." Is this anything like AOL or the others do, compress images before sending them?

Yup. To increase the number of things you can stuff down a given-sized pipe, make the things smaller.

Well, Google is quickly turning into a bad apple in my eyes. Not on purpose, it is just a progression through excessive growth. There is no such thing as a benevolent empire.

So basically you add a middleman, Google collects some more info about you, total tracking of your interests, behaviors, searches, purchases, etc. Would you let MS do that? Then why let Google?

I don't know, I never thought much of these accelerators, and am dumbfounded why you would need one with broadband anyway.
