Topic awaiting preservation: license for sourcecode? (Page 1 of 1)

i want to release a small part of source code to the public.
it's a C++ file for timing so maybe there might be at least a small number of interested people.

now i dont want to give it out just as it is, i think i should at least put one of these standard statements in it which says that it is redistributable as long as my name (hehe ) and the copyright notice remains in it. also i dont want to be made liable...

i know GPL, CC, etc. but i dont know if its the right one for me.

any recommendations?

None, they suck.

If you must use one, just use a GPL or CC.

Uhh, just read the six Attribution ones and pick the one you want.

usually, if I want to keep something free (as opposed to viraly distributed) I use the MIT-License (see opensource.org) - basically, it says anybody can do whatever they wish with the code, provided the license remains intact and I provide no warrenties what so ever.
