National Lampoon put out a book years ago that had a lot of great stuff like that -- weird marriages, funny signs. Can't remember the title. All I remember was a picture of a Big Boy sign, complete with the overly jolly icon -- except the "g" had fallen off.

I've been collecting photos of similar signs as I travel, hoping to get enough one day to release my own book. Last time I was in Amarillo, a storm came through and busted out the "c" in a neon Golden Corral sign.
