I've gone through like six deisgns I made just to get it all browser compatible and this finally is the one! Clash Animation.com! Tell me what needs changing, what you like! Also, please accept the fact that new content is being added because of the design change so happy browsing. BTW my site is called that because it is a mix of Flash and Clay animation. Thanx

First of all, I think you meant http://clashanimation.com/, no spaces when posting a link.

Second, welcome to the asylum...

And now on with my review... First thing I noticed about the site is the very low quality images. You need to either save the gifs with more color, or you need to go JPEG with them.

A few things when explring around is that you are relying on a forum for comments? Is this how you are having the news post on the main page, by posting a thread in a forum? I really don't like that one bit. They change from the site layout to a forum layout is very distracting, but that may just be me. Also, having to register to post a comment is a bad idea, I for one will not register for a site and put my email address out there just to post a comment. Some of your pages also have a completely different layout, which once again gets confusing, and when you combine it with the graphics on the other templates, like what is used on your flash page (I can barely read the words on your images) you may be scaring people away.

If this is meant to be a professional site, or even a "portfolio" site, you need to get rid of the "Hey You took a wrong turn. And NOW I WILL DESTROY YOU!" for your 404 errors... Which I ran into when trying to view "Portal" and "Contact", you should have something there, even if it is a under constuction page.

And my final observation... Messy code, and with tables no less... You have no character encoding, and no META tags in there, which are needed if you want browsers to index you faster/better.

Hope I don't sound like a prick... Just giving you my opinions/observations.

Personally I don't like PNG's too heavy and nothing over IE6 recognizes them.

Umm you've lost me there?? Aren't you supposed to be worried about browser compatibility when designing in CSS?? These are tables... what's so not browser compatible about them? Every browser recognizes tables as they are! Ok so you might have been confused and thought HTML to be standard now. No problem, still atleast you could've made it error free! According to the validator it hates you! 55 errors; sweet! No DocType no Character Encoding?? I find something disturbing!?

Bad quality images, stick to gif but increase the number of colors, you only have one image that's quite detailed but the rest are simple. Now the rest... what's attracting me are the headings. You've kept a dark colored background for them and an even darker color for the text... not a good idea. They are headings they should be attractive! They should make the viewer LOOK at them and eventually read them! Larger size and change the color to something lighter if you're going to keep that bakground.

Other than that... it's time for the swtch to XHTML!

Until IE is gone, or better versions are owned by all, PNG isn't really a good choice, in my opinion. It is kinda like having a fixed site width for a 1024*768 site, and forgetting about the people using the old k6 type computers who HAVE to use 800*600... Just my thoughts on it, I only use a max of 2 PNGs on my site, I wish I could use almost all PNG, but IE farked that one up for me.

Thanks guys for the info. I respect that you guys are truthful while not being complete asses. Other sites are not like this. As for all the different layouts. Changing them now, I've just been changing all the pages one by one so it'll get done, Thanx!

PNG's work fine in IE as long as you're not playing with transparency. As JPG is other option you suggested, transparency appears not to be an issue anyway.

there are some nasty jaggies on the rounded parts of the page title stuff as well as the blog titles.

when selecting "View all news" sends me to the phpbb forum.

other than that, not bad. Make a logo though. Just having some text on the header is a little blan
