kimson Paranoid (IV) Inmate From: The Carpenter Arms Insane since: Jan 2005	posted 06-14-2005 11:03 Hi there I didn't know whether to put this topic in the Photoshop or the Print Graphics forum, but there you go: I am making business cards for the company I work for and I would like to hear you suggestions about a nice and thin (to very thin) type face that comes out well in small size (on paper support of course). I quite like Eras Light ITC but would prefer some straight font, no Italics. I am also a bit stuck with the logo, as it was initially an RGB document (did not have the choice) and I would like to get the colours right when converting to CMYB mode. Is there a way in Photoshop to view my work like it would come out when printed? I know it all depends on the printer and the monitor on which I work, but I wonder if there's a way to work properly with documents meant for printing... This will not get your collors exactly right, but they will be close enough that you won't see dramatic color shifts when you print and you will have to create fewer test prints. If the logo image is given to you in RGB, convert it to CYMK in Photoshop before you do anything else and then compensate for any color shift you may see. . -- not necessarily stoned... just beautiful.

Unfortunately the initial artwork was indeed given to me in RGB, I only had to implement it (you know how it's like, I don't work for a graphic design company, but as a graphic designer for a consulting in HR management...) so I could not start my logo from sratch and now I'm stuck. But I have also read jstuartj's post about "print colours" and after some tests I find the colours are alright when kept in RGB mode and converted on the fly while printing. I also have no clue about what kind of printer will be used for this project, as I'll have to give my files to my boss's PA to get them printed out. So I suppose they'll be able to modify the colours themselves if need just before printing... Hopefully!
