Topic awaiting preservation: This logo stuff is killing me.... (Page 1 of 1)

Hello,

Allright... I've never been much of a designer and therefor always found logo's the hardest thing to do...
Now i have "this idea"... although it's not much, it's a start, but now my photoshop skills are not good enough.

What I have... The silly logo, and this is for this site...

Now two things are in my way...

One. as you can see, the logo was scanned in from my signature or at least part of it... and there for it is a little crooked in places, and i don't know how to get those lines straight... If i would have that i'd be at least a little satisfied.
Two. I don't know how to get it in the style of the site... what i'd have to add to it to get it finished...

What I'd like... well, ANY help... point me to tutorials, show me logo's that look alike, hell here is the PSD file, go crazy...

Haven't got much time right now, but start with Illustrator for your logo. Use the pen tool, you'll get as "straight" and smooth lines as you wish.
Then when you're done you can pass it into Photoshop (copy/paste) and start playing with it

... or you could use the pen tool in Photoshop.

Well what do you know I actually did do something about that PSD! I've uploaded it if you want it, added two logos as well, I was bored ok I'm not usually this nice so don't get too excited!!

About the rest of your site, I can't figure out whats a link and whats text! If you want a more in depth discussion on this then you should post in the Site Reviews.

I like... no scrap like.... I love the "depth" one you've made, but ofcourse i'm not gonna use the EXACT one you've made, but it's the fon't that does it for me... So i'll have a look around and find something likewise...

and about that text?? ... Well, in my blog i add a lot of pictures from free sites (girls, funny, and or other) and since i didn't wanna write a real copyright notice...

Any ways, THANX a bunch for the pointers!!

Ah appreciation! Just don't make it a habit of going around forums asking people to make stuff for you, that's no way to learn PhotoShop!

Fiddle around with the paths layer I've left in the file, you should eventually get something from there!

As you can see, i've taken your idea and reworked it... didn't want anyone to do it for me... just get a nudge in the right direction...

Also, i've taken your idea about the links in consideration... and i'll change them SOON
