Great work progression Ruski, your style and technique has come on leaps and bounds. Are the top three all done in Painter? I'd love to see larger versions if you have any.
Of the two self poitraits I think I prefer the pencil drawing as the light/shade contrast in the painted one is a little too harsh for my old eyes.
Well done.

The first one is very powerful!
Great capture of the anguish, fear in the face as well as the posture!

To me that one outclasses the other ones, simply because it hit's me square in the gut.

The others are pretty good as well (says a guy who's impressions of humans stopped at stick figures...), the one from the back is probably my second fav.

Nice work!

Thanks everyone, I am glad you like them.

Suho, I still remember the time we talked through ICQ whether or not I should go into the field of art. Well, I feel like I have made the right chose.

Tao, yes all of them are painted in Painter 9, I use Photoshop to do color correction, contrast, cropping, sharpening, adjustments, etc .
about large version, I will think about it.

I do agree with my fellow Swede DMS. #1 is the one that stands out to me in regards to lighting and composiotion.
Maybe not surprisingly since it also is the strongest motif (sp?) but what draws my eye is the lighting on the collar under his neck. Very nice.
I'm also very fond of the cloth and the painting of the back.

It does remind me of that I need to try to keep working my poor oils so that I don't lose my touch altogether. Lucky me we're expecting rain tomorrow Time to get busy I guess...

Anyhow, Nice work Ruski!!

Glad to hear it, Ruski. I remember that conversation too. In fact, I was thinking about it when I was looking at your paintings here. It gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Great work - I remember when you first started posting stuff here and 9as has been said) you've been improving ever since and some of that work is really top quality.

Good to see you finishing stuff too That used to be a bit of a niggle for me

So are we going to see an online portfolio?

As your site could do with a little polish too :

http://webspace.ringling.edu/~amatveic/

Your DA gallery is looking solid though:

I thought this was promising too:

I suppose what I'd like to see more of at the moment is...... well more

Hmmmmmmmm I think there might be a couple of people around here who could help

You might want to start here:

Should I use frames or iframes and if not what are the alternatives?

Pos. worth starting a thread on this topic to address any specific issues?

Great stuff Rusks!

I just love Painter I have version 7 though still love playing around in it... *sigh* if only I had a tablet been a while since I've used it. Maybe I'll crank it up later.

You know you can mimic frames quite easily with CSS, play around with z-index and positioning and you're done! Though personally I prefer a plain no frames layout. See the layouts at CSS Vault or some of these awesome tricks at CSS Play they should give you a nice idea for a layout.
