Topic awaiting preservation: My First Signature (Page 1 of 1)

Well, first off, hello all?this is my first post on the Asylum Forums. I've been working with Photoshop for around six or seven months now and I've done numerous wallpapers and some other random stuff, but never a siggy (what the hell was I thinking?!)?this is my first. It isn't great, but nonetheless give me some feedback; let me know what you think so that I can improve my techniques next time. Thanks in advance...

I think it looks good It's very star wars-ish but I'm assuming that's your site.

The top text isn't entirely clear to me but that may just be my eyes. I don't have my glasses on.

Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that: I'm managing a Star Wars fan game ATM and I did a siggy for the forums, so that's why it looks Star Wars-y. Thanks for the positive comment and yes, you're right, the chromed text is a little hard to read I guess: I think it's because Photoshop just doesn't like contours on relatively small text or something, but there wasn't much I could do really...

Hi Xanatos (and fellow blueyonderer ) were you making a sig for these forums or for somewhere else? The reason I ask is to make sure you know how to display your sig under your posts using the UBB code (see "Insert UBB Code" to the left of where you post a reply) Like this:

If you hit "Edit" at the top of this post you can see how I did it.
Next thing you will need to consider is the filesize. I noticed your sig is about 55kb which is rather on the large size for a .jpg sig. There are no strict rules for this but by and large try to keep the filesize as small as you can. The one I have just posted of yours I have managed to get down to 19kb without too much degrading to the image.
Btw, I also have a hard time trying to get my sigs under 40k but for the sake of people on slow connections I think it is worth it.
