quote:
Schools need to be more honest with their pupils and say.....we don't know. This is the best explanation that we have so far, but we have no conclusive proof that either [a] evolution is a fact, or [b] the earth was created in 6 days by an invisible friend.

I think what you have stated would be best discussed between parent and child, and not an institution and child.

quote:
For either group to demand that their beliefs be taught in schools or that the counter belief be excluded simply highlights the inadequacies of their arguments.

I don't see it that way at all. I see one that deals with the attempt to answer questions with known knowledge with postulating ideas based on that knowledge/facts, and the other(I.D.), relys simply faith.

quote:
If either side could prove their argument conclusively, the court case would be patently uneccesary.

Just because science can not answer every question, with proof does not mean you need to teach a "RELIGIOUS BELIEF", to the public masses, to balance any argument.

quote:
Let's stop being childish and accept the idea that there may be more than one right answer.

Agreed. But again,..................................Grow up you parents, and stop demanding that your SPECIFIC beliefs be taught in school.

Let alone stop pussifying these kids. THERE CHILDREN! Not little adults!

Sorry, I'll save that for a different thread.
