Just wanted to show off my new promo sig. Finally got around to making one with my logo and I thought I'd use Suho's dynamic image technique to promote my next upcoming event. It pulls the top one from a list of events I use as an include on my personal site.

Excellent =)

Nice to see the logo in action. Works well as a sig too.

What role will this site play for you in the bigger picture?

That looks great! That logo is definately top notch. I'll be listening =)

A bit off topic, but does anyone know how to get a PHP script like Wes' to work on a forum that doesn't allow PHP files to be posted as an image? My server doesn't have .htaccess so i can't do that...

It would be even better if it was animated...

Thanks, guys.

DL: WesleyTreat.com will eventually become the nexus for all my projects. It will be something like Wesley Treat's Roadside Motor Lodge (and Miniature Golf), though I haven't yet settled on a title. I'm currently working on a travelogue for my recent and upcoming Arizona trips.

Web: Unfortunately, the nifty flickering E can't be incorporated because PHP's imagegif() doesn't support animated GIFs.

Sounds good Wes.

As for the image - you could always use 2 images - one animated gif, and one PHP file that grabs the text...

Hmm ... I had thought about that, but for some reason I was under the impression the second image would automatically wrap under the other.

Testing ...

Nope, guess not! Didn't know why I thought that. I'll work on separating the elements when I get a few extra minutes.

I think the sig looks fab Wes, animated or not, though I prefer the animated one.
Have you tried animating the little arrows on the big arrow, a little blink on each one from left to right, sort of leading you to the point, or where the point points to?
Bleh, I'm sure that made sense in my head...
Nevermind, I'm going for a lay down.
Great work Wes.

absolutely beautiful, wes.

the flickering 'e' is just the icing on the icing on the cake.

Thanks!

Of course, I'll never see it because I use the wonderful AniDisable extension.

Tao: I thought about that, but I figured it would be too much. Too much animation drives me nuts. I may one day incorporate that on my site, but I would have it chase left to right only once when the page loads ... something like that.

OK, this is interesting ... Haven't touched my script one bit and I've noticed the images are getting stretched somehow.

Edit: The best I can figure, DreamHost has changed the version of GD installed on my server. The fonts I was using previously are now being treated very differently. Ugh ... I liked those fonts, too.

Wes, it is absolutely fantastic what you're doing. Don't forget about us when you're rich and famous, ok?

Hehe, thanks. I don't foresee being rich and famous, but if it happens, I'll try to remember to pop in here from time to time.
