That's it, I arrived in Oslo thursday.
It's been a little shock to land at 3pm with the night almost there and a dense rain after 2 weeks of sun and 20°C in France.

I haven't really begin to work, but I've met many people of Opera. They are really cool. After my first 'night at the Opera', they showed me the less expensive bar of the city. ... That was fun to walk back to my appartment without knowing the address after more beers than I can handle

Oh, and indeed the life seems ~25% more expensive here than in France.

But I definitely think I'll gonna enjoy my stay in Norway.

Welcome to Oslo!

Hopefully this cloudy, wet period will be over soon - so you can experience the nice, cold and white winter as it should be. Then everything won't seem so dark, since the white snow will lighten everything up

What bar did they show you too?

Yeah awesome work sounds like fun. I have to go get my Irish citizenship so I can work in the EU that would be so cool.

Thank you for the hug.

To answer some question :

  • the bar is called 'evegreen' or 'evergreen', do you know it ?
  • Yes, now, I do work for Opera, the browser company,
  • No, I won't work on the browser itself, but on some 'toys' to go with it on various platforms. Anyway, I'll be in the right place to breathe some ideas though they don't lack of
  • I'll have to ask my 2 room mates ( who also work for Opera ), if sby can crash here but that'd be with pleasure
  • arround Xmas I'll get my snowboard and equipment here. I count well to use it.
  • Being a EU citizen helps indeed, but I still have to fill some papers...

Yes, I've been to 'Evergreen' a couple of times. Pretty nice place, with cheap beer.
