Dell dimension 2400: I created a couple partitions, and installed XP home edition. Now, everytime I boot (or re-boot) I'm asked to choose between XP home edition and XP home edition. It's driving me nuts; I didn't install anything on the other partition. Also, when I try to choose the second os it errors out, of course because the os doesn't exist. How do I get rid of the prompt... or even better fix the problem? Thanks!

Nevermind, found an article on the boot.ini file... though it still bugs me that it "thinks" there was a nother os on there.

yeah that is weird if you didn't install anything there. Can you post a link to the article if it did help? Also, it might be good to slap it in FAQ

A simuiar thing happened to my brother when he was ding a lot of reinstalls of his OS. Before he cleaned up his boot.ini it had a half dozen option for his 2 OSes that were installed.

Here's the article Number 20. I just skipped the first few steps though, because there wasn't another os loaded.

edit: Link straight to it
