I wonder how many people here have heard about the Chinese portal of Google being censored.

Gagged and bound, how much does that suck, one of google official mission statements is to 'Not be Evil', how is this kind of censoreship not evil?

I don't know about Google China being censored, but it looks to me like the tiananmen image results that come from from google.com are from mostly English sites, whereas google.cn returns mostly Chinese sites. It's no surprise the Chinese sites have different images.

google has indeed agreed with the CHinese gubment to sensor search results

and apparently there's already a workaround that's been discovered reaplce in searchstring "&meta=" with "&meta=cr%3DcountryBR" it's not been verified if this works within China behind the Great fireWall but interesting regardless

Wes: try to seach for tiananmen pictures on google.se or google.fr. It returns some images from any tld, including .dk, .gov, .fr, .org, .uk, .de, ...
