Warning: sensitive topic ahead.

Johnny hacks stuff. Hacking, when it means "tweaking/investigating for informational purposes", is cool methinks, but that's another discussion altogether.

Anyway, Johnny once came to the conclusion that google was a powerful, automated device to search the web.
~ scOOp ~

But how sure are we that the material investigated by google was supposed to be there in the first place?
I mean, if I was to hack stuff, I'd be curious about websites, and what would I need to investigate, locate, track, find out on a large scale?
What would I need if I wanted to read "between" web pages?

..something like a powerful, automated device to search the web!

Google, inherently, as any search engine, is a powerful reverse engineering tool.
Meet Johnny.

You gotta love all those webcams, store security cams, printers, and other "sensitive bits" that generous people made public
One of my favorites is that car accessories shop... every once in a while, I give a sneak peak, zoom around, etc.

Information tends to be free. Watch out

yeah, search for payroll.xls and see what google returns

people amaze me

edit: you should also check the robots.txt files of government agencies, some really cool stuff in those directories that aren't supposed to be indexed. I think it was whitehouse.gov that I looked at. I'm sure a little something's been added to my file now

Payroll kills me, never had tested it I had a whole paper about these google hacks, some clever stuff. It also was used to discover "pseudo" domains, I don't remember the details
but one could find domains like mirandagates.microsoft.com.

In some cases, people just never cared to find out that theyre new webcam software had a web server.

In some cases, some companies and orgnanizations, it's just stunning.
