I have some time now and have started the major rewrite/redesign of my site.
The Question Is...
When I add a page to the site..I add a link to the new page on each and every existing page..which means I have to download and write that link on many pages..
CSS means there is one page of code (script) for all pages but is there a code for the cotnent?
I have basic content..headers, footers, menu links that are identical and appear on every page ...Is there anyway to make a "script page" for that part of the HTML and call the content that is unique to that page?
Hope this makes sense..

You're looking at something server-side there. Like Server-Side Includes, PHP, Perl, ASP... anything like that. SSI is probably your best bet. Plug it into google, and give it a burl, see if your host supports it.

The last one is something that I found invaluable when starting to do this with PHP. The basic idea represented in that tutorial is still the basic idea behind how I set up my sites.

THANK YOU...I had an idea that was what I wanted..that or a DHTML or Java Script menu that could be modified on one java document and included as a tag line in all the pages
I am looking at the posted links right now..

I am looking at all the tutorials listed..and as time allows..starting to learn some of it..I think a combination of javascript and server side is necessary to really solve some of the problems of webpage management
Time to add to the toolbox..*sigh* So much to learn ..so little time *grin*
Thanks!
