Topic awaiting preservation: link to the article about virris that evolve? (Page 1 of 1)

Yeah, I am looking for docs on that experiment, it has always intrigued me.
Some Unis defined a context, including a network, over which a self-replicating virus would spread.
The virus was meant to just replicate itself, but it ended up, under controlled/experimental conditions, evolving and changing, doing new things on it's own.

It was one of those mad-scis labs If anybody has a link about it, or has had more success hitting google than me,
please, post it here, I am curious.
