Anyone else in da houze who just cant wait for vista anymore? I know there are a lot of rumors going through the net that it will completely suck, but I am personally quite optimistic.

While I know you comment wasn't totally serious...I couldn't care less about prettiness in an OS, if you ask me what were the reason that made me switch from 98 to XP was the native external drive support, the multiuser screen (unlike 2k), and the loads of generic drivers for a lot of stuff. :P

So what's the reason I should look forward to Vista? At this point in my life, all I care about is getting the work done. I still use 2000 on my desktop simply because it works and I didn't want to spend the money on XP. I use XP on my laptop because that's what it came with, though I'm generally happy with the way it works, too.

The more glitz I see in an OS, the more I think, "Looks like I'll have to upgrade to a $400 graphics card now just to prevent lag." So again, what should I look forward to in Vista?

The only thing I can think of -and still doesn't convince me- is WinFS.
