Ooh, I think you'll find that the simulation is supposed to be showing even the tiniest gravitational 'ripples' in spacetime that NASA are attempting to detect with their latest venture. According to the text on that page, they...
...hope to detect these subtle waves, which would alter the shape of a human from head to toe by far less than the width of an atom.
That suggests to me that the expanding waves you see are representative of the ripples being sent out across the universe like the surface of a pond (but in three dimensions). Of course, at the end of the animation, you can see a depiction of Einstein's description of gravity - the stabilised new black hole appears to be warping the spacetime in its immediate vicinity, like a heavy object on a stretched rubber sheet. As for 'sucking gravity back in' - that's a little like trying to lift yourself by your shoelaces! :p ;) [small]ZZZ[small]ZZZ[small]ZZZ[small]ZZZ[small]ZZZ[small]ZZZzzz.....[/small][/small][/small][/small][/small][/small] [small]Edit: typo/clarity.[/small] [small](Edited by White Hawk on 04-22-2006 15:49)[/small]
