Get a Mac. ;) Seriously. Lightroom is cool, and it is VERY cool that they release the beta for user feedback. I think they have a long way to go to beat Aperture's feature set on the Mac OS platform, but there will always be die-hard Adobe fans on the Mac and yes - LOTS of PC advocates since Aperture isn't likely to be released on Windows. Try it if/when they release a Windows beta. Nothing to lose. Assuming you shoot a LOT of images, and a lot of them are in RAW. Don't know if there is a compelling advantage otherwise. The point of both Lightroom and Aperture is to streamline editing and asset management - NOT to compete with Photoshop. I don't know if that puts it in a place that matters to you.
