Photosynth seems to create hyperlinks between images, based on content.
It's kinda hard to describe.. .think about automatically found closeups, instant panoramas, the like.

and boy, if this really works, it is immensly cool.

Couldn't see the videos on your link either, but I've seen one on Digg or Reddit a few days ago. It didn't show how images are processed but the 3d visualisation looks really nice.

I've not tried the application but on second thought the 3d visualisation looked completely made up. I mean the pictures aligned perfectly, the light was homogenous across them ( even though in a real case they would have been taken at different times of the day with variable image quality, weather conditions, ... ), etc ... in short : too good to be true.
